London: Tho. Dring, 1676. J.W. Gent. First Edition / First Impression. Hardback. Near fine condition. An important early treatise on cider making advocating for it as a national industry, rather than relying on the importation of wine. The book helped shape England, particularly in the west, as having a culture of cider-making and cider-drinking. Lovely engraved frontis, and two further plates. Bound in recent full calf with new endpapers, ownership signature on the first leaf verso (license leaf). One leaf with a corner missing. A little toning and a few spots but a nice copy overall. Near fine. Item #13615
