Utopian tale in which inventor and army officer Junius Cobb puts himself in suspended animation and reawakes in the year 2000 to find a technologically-advanced North America powered by electricity, transformed by futuristic inventions, and shaped by a unified political order. The present copy has a good amount of wear to the wrappers, with some losss and creasing. Lower wrapper looks to have been replaced (just plain paper). Vertical tear to the upper wrapper covering around 60% the wrapper. Some toning and chipping to the spine and lower wrapper. Owner's inscription to the upper wrapper. Some chipping to the leaves, which are very acid toned, large tear to the first leaf that's been repaired with tape. Some residue of sort to the second leaf. Heavy staining to the first few leaves.
