London1692: Thomas Bennet. First Edition / First Impression. Hardback. Very good condition. A satirical and philosophical fantasy in which our protagonist journeys through the imaginary Cartesian universe, encountering René Descartes (obviously) and other thinkers as they debate the cosmos, science and religion in a series of celestial worlds. A landmark work of speculative fiction and interplanetary voyages. Bound in full calf, fairly recent rebacking. From the Fox Pointe Collection, with plate to the front pastedown. The front endpaper is chipped to the foreedge, some offsetting from the leather. A couple of booksellers' stickers to the front pastedown. Leaves a little toned, but neat overall. A nice copy. Very Good. Item #13603
