Orange Prize for Fiction - First Edition Price Guide
The Orange Award for Fiction, taking its name from the primary sponsor (A mobile network in the UK) is an award for the best novel-length fiction by a female writer. Although the award is UK-based there is no puported preference for nationality. Although quoted by many as a prestigious award, it never reaches the heights of the Booker or the Pulitzer, perhaps, one can comment with cynicism, this is related to the prevelant sexism inherent in publishing. In 2005 the oddly-named prize Orange of Oranges was awarded to Andrea Levy for Small Island, a portrait of Jamaican Immigrants to London.
