The son of Kingsley Amis, Martin had his first novel published at the age of 24. He is highly regarded for a style that owes a debt to Vladimir Nabokov and Saul Bellow. Amis is considered one of the 'big names' of contemporary British fiction, and is also a regular contributor to many newspapers, magazines and journals.
