Codex Seraphinianus Author Luigi Serafini Illustrates Jules Renard
Fans of the outstanding Codex Seraphinianus will no doubt be pleased to know that Luigi Serafini has illustrated a copy of Jules Renard's 1896 novel Les Histoires Naturelles. Serafini illlustrating a novel about men and plants something odd inbetween sounds about right, almost a match made in heaven. As always though, it's a bit tricky for non-native speaker's to read. No, this book is not in whatever language Codex was written in, nor is it in that vaguely familiar language French, no, this book is published in Italian. Receiving very little press over here (my heads up came from the ABE Blog) the book appears to still be available. From what I can glean it is published under the name Storie Naturali and appears to be 262 pages long, 33cmx23cm, limited to 600 signed and numbered copies, hardcover with a number of inserts and was published in 2009 by Biblioteca University in Rizzoli, Italy (ISBN 8817033588). Copies will no doubt sell like hotcakes now ABE has the lead. Oh, and the price 300 Euros. Here's a link.

the photos don't do the book justice - the quality of the printing is truly outstanding.
