Above is another insight on the new move by Penguin, I wouldn't say it was entirely accurate. Penguin is a historical monument to the written word for many more reasons than the books it first published. Even those it republished it did so with generally a positive effect on the book. Comments?
The Future of the Paperback in the World of the eBook
Publishing Perspectives looks at the future of the paperback in this article. We've discussed this a lot recently and the general opinion seems to be that it will have little negative impact on book collecting (except perhaps shrinking the number of books available, which is arguably good and bad). Penguin are embracing the challenge with reduced prices and seeing good sales. Well done Penguin, at least someone's not just postulating.
